Trait #2: Problem-Solving Abilities

On a personal note,, challenging the status quo has always been a given for me as someone with ADHD and dyslexia. In my prior work experience and training as a coach, I noticed a missing piece in the process of coaching, and that if it were in place, it might make a bigger impact in a single coaching meeting.

What I realized was that I needed to think outside the box even more so than what I was already doing by expanding and empowering myself with coaching tools to create unique ways to enhance the learning experience in a lighter way that speaks clarity and kindness to our nervous systems so that we can feel fully ready to spearhead any challenges life throws at our way. And it never dawned on me that maybe I needed more experience in designing tools or drawing, or that it might be risky. I just knew I had a strong desire to add more learning value to my coaching style.

And so the process began testing these tools out on myself and with my clients, using colorful visual communication that spoke straight to the heart of the matter with purposeful objectives that have now become part of my signature coaching programs.

Although this is just one example of how I work with my clients, it’s an essential piece of the learning process because it helps people access a new state of mind with healthy actions aligned with their discovered ‘bigger why.’ It’s also the opportunity to celebrate milestones along the way that support staying focused and on track with our neurodiverse gifts and fresh new perspectives towards building success.

Unique Perspectives and Ways of Thinking

Neurodiverse individuals often bring unique perspectives and ways of thinking to the workplace like identifying business opportunities that others may miss. Some of the ways that neurodiverse individuals can help seed business opportunities include:

🌱 Seeing patterns and connections: Neurodiverse individuals often have the ability to see patterns and connections in information that others may overlook. This allows them to identify opportunities for growth and improvement in a business.

🌱 Thinking outside the box: Neurodiverse individuals often have a tendency to think creatively and unconventionally. This can lead to innovative ideas and approaches that can help businesses stand out in their respective industries.

🌱 Being observant: People with ADHD and autism, in particular, tend to have strong attention to detail. This allows them to observe and identify problems in the workplace and potential solutions.

🌱 Breaking down complex information: Neurodiverse individuals often have the ability to take complex information and break it down into simple, manageable parts. This can help them identify areas for improvement in a business and develop effective solutions.

These are a few examples of how individuals with neurodiversity can use their problem-solving abilities to overcome challenges and achieve success. Their tendency towards creativity, quick thinking, and out-of-the-box solutions makes them well suited for careers in fields such as entrepreneurship, technology, and design.

It's important to note that neurodiversity can also have negative impacts on an individual's life and success. However, with proper management and support, people that are neurodivergent can harness their problem-solving abilities and turn them into a purposeful and successful career.
